My clients recently remodeled their home and were looking for art to inspire and accent their primary living space. Much of their interior elements and decor showcased a Japanese heritage and love of the shapes and cultural connectivity of bamboo. The sculpture I created is an abstract representation of bamboo stocks and leaves accentuated by a red sun. I chose to incorporate texture throughout the piece as a homage to traditional Japanese brush painting and calligraphy.
